Notice to all parents and guardians:

If you have forms that your doctor has requested you to get filled out by teachers, PLEASE have their office send signed release of information, along with the forms, either by email to melissanelson@rcps.info or fax 540-853-2004 ATTN. Melissa Nelson. Teachers are not permitted to complete forms that are dropped off by students or parents. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Nelson at 540-853-2358

Class Change Requests:

Student classes were selected based on your student's course requests and teacher recommendations.  Course changes are not guaranteed and are based on availability of the course requested. Please be aware that there are fewer elective options and therefore it will be unlikely that we will be able to accommodate a change. All schedule change requests must be submitted, in writing, by Friday August 14, 2026. We will only contact you if we are able to make the requested change.

When submitting a request please include the current course, new course requested, and reason for the change. Please note:  we do not make schedule changes based on teacher preference or to put friends in classes together.

Canvas access:

The Woodrow School Counseling Department uses Canvas to share important information, updates, and events with students and parents/guardians. Students can also use the Canvas page to request to see their school counselor, learn about our monthly topics, and access important resources. If your student does not have access to the Woodrow School Counseling Center Canvas page, please reach out through email to their school counselor.
